In November 1998, Rik Nuytten joined Cisco Systems as Market Development Manager for the Public Sector for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He covered both the defence and the civil sector. In October 1999 he was promoted to Channels Marketing Manager for EMEA. He currently runs all channel accreditation and quality programs across the theatre.
Rik Nuytten has a degree in Computer Sciences and started his career in the Utility sector as a software developer, project manager and consultant, prior to joining Digital Equipment Corporation in 1983. At Digital, Rik Nuytten held management positions in Software Services, Sales, Field Service and Marketing. He managed teams on a country basis, as well as Europe-wide. In 1997, at the purchase of the Digital's Networks Division by Cabletron Systems, Rik Nuytten became Vice-President Marketing for Cabletron Europe.
For many years, Rik Nuytten has been the Managing Director of the Belgium Cystic Fibrosis Association.
